The Kingston Trio became famous with their first number 1 hit "Tom Dooley" in 1958. But the group was
formed by three Stanford students in 1955. Great Western was honored to help The Kingston Trio and Brothers Four
perform a three state 15 concert 50 year Golden Tour in 2008. This group set the bar for successful folk music
groups earning several Grammys for their musical talent including The Lifetime Achievment Award. As with many bands
the members of the Kingston Trio have changed over the years. Bill Zorn, George Grove and Rick Dougherty with whom
we worked in 2008 performed their final concert as The Kingston Trio in 2017 only to be replaced by Josh Reynolds, son of
founder Nick Reynolds; Mike Marvin, cousin of Josh; and Tim Gorelangton who all hung around with the original Kingston Trio as kids.
They guarantee that the group will continue entertaining audiences for many years to come.
